Thank you for your interest in becoming an Alzheimer’s Project volunteer!
Street Team & Event Volunteers
We need volunteers to help us organize, manage, and publicize our programs and events. Volunteers work with the volunteer manager to distribute fliers to businesses, doctor’s offices, religious institutions, schools, and community centers. Street Team members are liaisons to the community.
Day Respite Meals on Wheels Delivery Volunteers
Volunteers pick-up Meals-on-Wheels from Alzheimer’s Project at 11:00 AM and deliver meals to one of the Day Respite Sites, then return the empty boxes to Alzheimer’s Project. Time commitment is 1 hour a week.
Day Respite Volunteers
Are you looking for a fun and rewarding volunteer opportunity?
We’re looking for volunteers to help during our Day Respite “Social Clubs.” The respite rooms are open from 9 AM – 3 PM and include crafts, music, exercise, games and social engagement. Weekday availability required!
Volunteers assist guests with mild to moderate dementia in a group day care setting one day a week between 9:00am – 3:00pm for a minimum of 2 hours a week. Volunteers are supervised by the Day Respite Coordinator. Activities include: singing, arts & crafts, puzzles, scrapbooking, seated exercises, bingo, and much more. We have opportunities for this position in Leon, Gulf, Wakulla, and Gadsden counties.
Volunteers must attend a training session where you learn about communicating with someone with dementia as well as other volunteer opportunities that may interest you.
